Taking care of my flowers, watching movies, writing, and driving my convertible(!) are the kind of activities that I really enjoy with Jim after 42 years of marriage. And, of course, there are my two grandsons that my son and his wife are happy to share with me when I can get to California! My daughter lives in Chattanooga (where I live) so that makes it a lot easier to spend some time with her.
My dad pastored several churches in Florida and Tennessee while I learned to be the older sister of three brothers. Growing up in a ministry home also gave me a front row seat when it comes to understanding the life of a pastor’s kid and wife. Those experiences, as well as being a pastor’s wife for almost 25 years, help me in my life coaching with those in ministry.
I earned a B.A. in sacred piano at Tennessee Temple University and an M.M. in piano pedagogy from Southern Methodist University. After teaching piano professionally for more than 40 years my focus is now on serving the next generation of Christian leaders. That is why I enjoy hosting and teaching retreats for women, leading worship and a small group in our Deeper Journey experience, and providing life coaching.
Because I was a pastor’s kid and wife, I know the demands that ministry takes on families and mates. I know the competing demands of ministry and family. So if I can be of any encouragement and help I will be delighted to listen and learn with you.
