Matt resides on the west side of Cincinnati, Ohio with his beautiful wife of 17 years, Tiffany, and their two sons, Richard (adopted) and Henri (miracle baby after 12 years of infertility). He has been a pastor in a multitude of capacities for over 10 years. Currently, he serves as the Pastor of Care and Community at Missio Dei Church, and has completed the Crosspoint Soul Care Institute, and has taken advantage of many other training & coaching opportunities through Crosspoint. Matt is currently working on his level 1 & 2 Gottman Method Couples Therapy Certification through the Gottman Institute. He shares a passion with Crosspoint for the relational health and spiritual vitality of Church leaders of all types and deeply desires restored trust with and within the Church of Jesus Christ.
Matt has extensive experience working with couples and individuals through his years of pastoral ministry and providing care within the local Church. His story of pain and transformation has helped countless marriages, men, and women attend to and work through the challenges associated with their pain. Matt’s areas of fruitfulness in coaching and care include sabbatical coaching, premarital counseling, marriage coaching, foster and adoptive parent coaching, infertility care, spiritual discipline practice, overall relational, emotional & spiritual health and relational mediation, as well as a plethora of painful experiences often associated with loneliness, shame, guilt, anger, fear, hurt, sadness and gladness. Matt holds a deep passion for good relational soul care to become normative in the local church and offers coaching for Pastors and lay leaders providing care in their local ministry context (local Church and para-Church) as well.
Matt is an eight on the enneagram, an avid sneaker collector, and enjoys reading and intentional conversation. He deeply and passionately believes the reality that the greatest thing we have to offer our relationships and the world that surrounds us is our transformed and transforming presence. Matt’s presence is often described as warm, inviting, and safe by those who have received his care. He hopes to share the decades of learning, growing, and transformation that he has experienced through Crosspoint over the years with any and all who desire to begin or continue their journey of letting go of their false self on their way to becoming their true self in Christ Jesus.
