Celebrating & Welcoming Steve Watkins

The CrossPoint family is incredibly grateful to announce the addition of a new member of our team.Earlier this year, Steve Watkins began serving our ministry by helping us navigate a number of technical advances as well as helping us think through some of our internal systems and processes that needed updating.   Steve has been a lifesaver!  He has stepped into both the macro and micro level needs of the organization and ministry.  Steve brings an immense amount of Godly wisdom and organizational knowledge to our team (see bio below).  His love for God and God’s church is abounding.  His commitment to integrity is unquestionable.   On a more personal level, Steve has become a mentor and a close friend.  He has truly given me the best gift one could ever receive, his transformed and transforming presence.  I have already enjoyed working with Steve and I look forward with great anticipation to the days ahead of us!  -ClifHere is a bit more about Steve:Steve has been happily married to Glenda for nearly 35 years.  They will celebrate their 35th anniversary in October 2019.  They have one adult daughter, Abigail, who has been a joy on their lives.Steve has been actively involved in his neighborhood church since his early years.  He was baptized at Brooks Baptist Church in Kentucky at the age of 9, was active in the youth group at Bullitt Lick Baptist Church as a teenager.  After he and Glenda married in 1984, they were both active at First Christian Church of Lebanon Junction, KY where Steve served as an ordained Deacon. After moving to Mt. Washington, KY in 1991, they joined First Baptist Church of Mt. Washington, where Steve served as Deacon and led an adult co-ed Sunday School class for many years until 2010, when they moved to the Netherlands. While in the Netherlands until 2014, Steve helped lead the International Church of Eindhoven, one of the few English speaking churches in the area.  Upon moving back to the US, Steve and Glenda joined Sojourn Community Church in Louisville and have been actively serving there since, as community group leaders, mentors, and most recently leading the Stewardship Ministry. After finishing his 32-year executive career at UPS in 2017, Steve retired as Vice President of Solutions and Engineering.  His experiences at UPS have exposed him to many aspects of business, many of which overlap with work in God’s church.Steve has been involved with CrossPoint Ministry since mid-2018, practicing the interpretation of Enneagram Profiles, attending Soul Care Institute, and Deeper Journey experiences.  What started as an opportunity to mentor a friend (Clif Roth) has gradually transformed into a greater involvement with this very important ministry.Steve is uniquely equipped to come alongside a church from a relationally-focused, fact-finding, process improvement, perspective.Welcome Steve!  We are so grateful for the gift to know you and love you and also benefit from your wide array of gifts!
