The Power of 'Yes'

God waits for our 'yes'. We do not fully understand where this response will take us. We may even resist it. But still God waits for our 'yes'. And we do well to give this response in faith, trusting the goodness of our heavenly father just as Jesus did. When Mary said 'yes', she did not know what would happen to her son, that He would willingly lay down His life. She did not know the sorrow of soul she would have to endure. She only knew for certain that everything would change if she said 'yes'.The same is true of us. When we say 'yes' to God things will change. Something old must die in order for something new to be born. Death is not easy. But the power of a 'yes' to God's invitation is that it births something good. It is our consent to a new way of being. It is our availability to the Spirit to form us more and more into the likeness of Christ."Here I am, the servant of the Lord; let it be with me according to your word" (Mary ... and hopefully, each of us).
